THE CONSTITUTION OF THE MEDICAL AND DENTAL CONSULTANTS' ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (MDCAN) ADOPTED BY THE ANNUAL DELEGATES MEETING HELD AT LAGOS, 20TH JULY, 1991 AND AMMENDED BY THE ANNUAL DELEGATES MEETING , BENIN CITY, 23RD AUGUST, 1997 AND DELEGATES MEETING IN ZARIA ON 28TH AUGUST, 1999.
The Medical and Dental Consultants' Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), an affiliate of Nigerian Medical Association is the largest specialist medical association in the West African sub-region with over 2,000 members from teaching and specialist hospitals from all parts of Nigeria. Policy decisions are made by the Association's National Executive Council (NEC) which is the governing body. The National Executive Council is the governing body of the Association and has full powers to act on its behalf in the period between the Annual Delegates' Meetings in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Association unless otherwise stated in the constitution.
Proposed MDCAN National Secretariat Complex, Abuja. Nigeria.
This project which comprises an office block, multi-purpose hall and a guest house, was approved by the NEC meeting in Awka on 21/01/2018.
The structure, when completed, is expected to:
- 1. Project the corporate image and status of the Association.
- 2. Enhance administrative efficiency, safety and easy retrieval of the Association's documents.
- 3. Ensure better coordination of the Association's programmes and activities.
- 4. Ensure diversification of sources of funding for programmes of the Association beyond membership dues and levies thereby improving the impact on the society in general.
